Scientist Tim Flannery is voted "Australian of the Year" ostensibly because of his views that global warming is human-caused.
Apart from the inconvenient fact (Al Gore aside) that this hasn't actually been scientifically proven, it hasn't stopped Flannery from reaching all kinds of other speculative conclusions, such as the need for Australia
Apparently the science boffins are all still arguing over how to combat the alleged global warming as well, with some suggesting giant mirrors in space could reflect 1% (yes, just one percent) of the sun's light back, which would be enough to reverse the impact of 150 years of industrial revolution pollution.
If a 1% shift in solar energy is all it takes, maybe it is just part of a natural solar radiation cycle anyway...

Ahhh... Lloyd Geering. I always thought here's nothing he can't do given he's not sure if he believes in anything or not and at least he has the courage of his lack of convictions. He was at least interesting to listen too on Kim Hill's program recently.
