Police looking for assault rifle bought on TradeMe
Scoop is carrying images of some of the things listed on a search warrant, pertaining to a "cyber_hori".
Investigate googled this link to an SKS rifle purchase and this to walkie-talkies
Cyber Hori was the confirmed buyer of this
....of course...none of this goes to implicate anyone...but he is the person listed on the police documents obtained by Scoop, and his list of purchases would appear to be relevant
Any would be terrorist, extremist or radical using those kind of walkie talkies are 'real' amateurs.
No wonder the police 'busted' them. They're pretty small fry 'terror link cells / crooks.'

Yeah...it does seem very ad-hoc...he may just be an innocent collector or buying stuff for hunting mates...but it is his auction purchases that police were interested in...

Why do I get the feeling this is just an elaborate game set up and played for and by some very strange people?
[insert reason of your choice - it has me beat]
Look at the parallel/media police job on these people and look at how they are conducting their "investigation": Police feeding media just before things happen... and right on cue they publish everything they're offered. Nothing particularly odd with that, but they've gone over the top with lack of plausibility this time. Who'll be next in the net? Ray Wolfe and the Topp Twins?
It's a sad joke. Like some kind of huge reality TV pilot.
Something smells really, really odd here.

"Something smells really, really odd here."
Well some alleged 'conspiracy theorists' could say it's one of many crackdowns on any possible opposition to come before NZ fully capitulates to a police state One World Govt/New World Order.
IMHO: I think it's the police flexing their muscle and sending a message they're in control, law and order and all that jazz. Yeah we can get you trouble makers. Only if you're in the kiddie league. We won't worry too much going after the major underworld armed caches, etc. It's too hard and it might upset some of the powers at be.

Perhaps Cyber_Hori had to settle for the walkie talkies after his buy now query for an Optus B1 Satellite was ignored?

I wonder what the police would find if they tracked a gang like the headhunters for a year or so?
To scared too - eh boys - to hard basket , but whatever Labour, Maori and Green peaceniks playing para military games with unlicensed firearms .
Should be the end of both the Maori and Green political parties , thats for sure !

Big call Daddy 4 - especially when the Green Party are showing 9 per cent in latest polls!!
As for the Maori Party, remember that Pita Sharples is still there.

I hope the cops realise that after 60 days the photos from trade me auctions are removed. Could slow down identifcation of the alledged weapons LOL. 20 days dithering, 20 days locked in consideration of PC approach to issue, 20 days spent looking in letterboxes for rifles ...not much time left to do good sleuthing. Oh and I see they just let one of their "terrorists" out on bail if he promises to be a good boy. LOL what muffins they are.

Ian
Am I right in recalling that Fairfax is the owner of Trade Me.
I can feel your next headline coming on..
"Mainstream Media implicated in arms race"
Posted by: peter | October 16, 2007 at 02:14 PM
No Peter ,newsflash, New Zealand government finances para military terrorists is a better headline for a paper like the New York Times etc...etc...

The police really need to flex their muscles next on gangs, especially where P or other hard drugs are involved.

Police officers say they're outgunned by criminals who are now carrying assault rifles and using high-powered weapons when committing crimes. The North Hollywood bank robbery incident in the late 19-90's forced police departments across the country to take a look at their weapons of choice when officers were outgunned by the robbery suspects who were using high-powered assault rifles. A recent incident in Prichard and a police standoff in Loxley has prompted Roberts dale's chief of police to go on the offensive.
