I think that married prisoners are officially allowed a regular time together in a special room or something. Agree with Andrei though, this is a privilege of civilized society that should be denied those who have callously wrecked the lives of others.

It's an interesting thing about the system in the states - the lock people up for longer, but they have more life while in prison - marrying, having children etc.
