Don't you just love the green control freaks? British politicians are floating the possibility of issuing every single citizen a "personal carbon account" limiting how much carbon they can use each year so that Britain stays within its Copenhagen limits.
The only way of achieving this is effectively customer linking the bank accounts of every citizen and monitoring every transaction. As Lord Smith of Finsbury notes, this will probably require a unique ID number that all transactions are logged against.
Big Brother will be watching your every move, and no-one will be permitted to buy or sell without the number (won't stop people trying, I'm sure).
The Brits and Americans have already signaled that homeowners will be required to upgrade old homes to modern energy efficiency standards before they are allowed to sell them, which in some cases will write the value of existing old homes down to zero capital, land value only.
This is bank robbery and freedom robbery in the same fell swoop.
I remember reading about this scam somewhere else quite a long time ago. It was a revelation at the time.

Sounds like they're taking advice from an extremist German Climate Change Alarmist who was proposing this awhile back?
Also NO wonder the UK is stuffed. When AL Gore just happens to be one of their key Climate Change advisors!

So which British Politicians are mooting this and when did they did so?
I live in Britain and there is no such current proposal in the news (not even in the kooky newspapers). I am happy to be corrected but would like some current references cited please
Thanks

Graeme, I don't have the precise reference at my fingertips as I read it a few weeks ago, but this piece from a building publication in the UK alludes to it:
"
It’s in the second of these areas that UK consultants have a competitive advantage. Britain has set itself an ambitious timetable to cut emissions, which includes making new homes zero carbon by 2016, with other buildings to follow by 2019. This means that the UK has had to grapple with a lot of the issues other countries might face in the future. “We’ve been dragged there before everyone else so we have a competitive advantage in terms of our knowledge and technology,” says King.

You will note Queensland is stepping in that direction as well:

Then there's this from the Guardian the other day:

So our own personal Carbon Accounts? Cool...or is that Warm?
Do they work the same way as bank accounts? The one with the largest amount at the end wins.
Surely this idea is counter-productive, as people are conditioned to saving ie growing their accounts, so i look forward to maximising my carbon footprint

Some kind of integration of Earth is inevitable as issues like global warming, over-population, nuclear arms, etc become more critical.
The United Nations is a framework, and of course big blocs like the United States of America, Russia and European Union consolidate the states around them.
Of course it won't be global right wing Christian fundamentalism and that is what upsets you really Acid!

Peter,
Until each and everyone of us as citizens can vote in the UN beaucrats and all the other elist ilk dictating rules and regulations down our throats and pushing their agendas on us. Then they can go and get stuffed.
They're a pack of corrupt, lying, fraudulent, incompetent halfwits.

Lets just minimise governments and bureaucracy and give people the freedom to live their lives in peace without having power hungry dropkicks trying to tax us and manipulate us to oblivion

A very intelligent posting twawki.
I suppose you will build your own road from your home to your workplace!
Set up your own electric power generation!
If we get invaded, step out with your pitchfork and wearing your straw hat like a hay-seed.
Lets see if we can find you an island all for yourself.

"Acid Comments - Giving each of 6 billion people one vote gives me a problem - it occurs at your level and at other levels!"
Actually Peter.
Not at all.
We could start by being able to vote for our UN representative from each country we live in. Just like we vote in our Leaders and representatives in General elections to Govern the country. AT least it would be some start and the majorities of nations not living under dictators would be given a more democratic say.
At the momement. Far too many unelected bureaucrats with far too much power.
No wonder the UN has an appalling lack of transparency and it has got worse in recent years.

I work from home so its easy - 30% of the workforce does now anyway - if they increased that then wed solve a lot of their non issues overnight.

How anyone can think that allowing some central??entity, to have complete access to all your financial and personal data is staggering.
We have USA trying to monitor and shut the web freedom down, to sites they deem acceptable. ie scratch sites like this...they may "foment terrorism and non compliance".
There ARE RFID implants patented for general populace to track medication compliance and also to detect viruses, and Nano scale rfid too not the standard style..see Verichips stocks just skrocketing.
9/11, well, there are a LOT of very weird things like bldg 7 holding Enron files going pancake for no reason. curious they were running training, on the day? ditto the london tube event..far too convenient to be accidental.ever really looked at the links between people money names and places? maybe you should!
As to the original subject, In my opinion, this would show what so many of us have been trying to get through to the dumbed down gullible MSM believers. Warming is crap! A maunder etc minimum is far more likely.
have ANY? of you looked at the Copenhagen fiasco? really? Ever read the WHO agreements we signed onto, that give the WHO the right to impose mandatory Vaccinations and place any country they deem non compliant under WHO power. ie Martial law, for 90 day increments at their decision, and to renew as long as they? see fit.Copenhagen promises more of this dictatorial regime from the EU, Nasty!.
There really is a NWO agenda, a one world currency etc is being mooted now.Wether climate carbon was an issue or not, and it is NOT! any concessions giving away our countries freedom to govern itself is very very dangerous and stupid.
go read 1984 again, refreshingly wonderful world? I think not.
