The Royal Society of New Zealand has established, with government funding, a propaganda unit headed by Di McCarthy to put the government approved spin on climate change, among other issues.
Regular readers will be aware I was shut out of a carefully staged "media briefing" a couple of weeks ago for asking two inconvenient questions that embarrassed them on global warming. But you may be interested to know the lockout is permanent. I have been wiped from the regular email alerts and invitations to further briefings.
The Listener's alarmist cover story on climate this week had its genesis in the media briefing I got thrown out of. Journalists need to ask themselves whether they enjoy being played for patsies by climate manipulators. Nothing new in that – the emails scandal uncovers more than a few journos who fell victim to schmoozers who didn't respect them in the morning.
And Di, if you want to prove to the rest of the media and the taxpayers who fund your little propaganda wing that the unit actually has integrity, perhaps you can explain your justification for banning from the news conference, and now the blackout?
Especially given your now-hollow claim to be "independent" and "bias free":
Notes to Editors
The Science Media Centre (SMC) is an independent source of expert comment and information for journalists covering science and technology in New Zealand. Our aim is to promote accurate, bias-free reporting on science and technology by helping the media work more closely with the scientific community. The SMC is an independent centre established by the Royal Society of New Zealand with funding from the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology
The truth is, you can't take the heat…
Maybe they simply can't be bothered dealing with your whole schtick? You prepare a whole take-down but all they're expecting are a question or two from those in attendance. They'd need to set up a whole new unit just to deal with your 'enquiries'.

Comment would be valid, except their invite to media explicitly stated "All your questions will be answered".
The inconvenient questions were muted.

"They'd need to set up a whole new unit just to deal with your 'enquiries'"
That would be money well spent in my books, and a drop in the bucket compared with the untold 100's of millions spent finding 'evidence' of arthrogenic global warming.
The perversion of science in support of an ideology is a disgrace

"The perversion of science in support of an ideology is a disgrace'
The problem is. Science has always had a corrupted element anyway.
This field of Climate science really takes the cake for absolute corruption and incompetence because of the huge amounts of $$$$ riding on it and the whole stinkin cesspit on the manipulated outcome.
It was medical research which was considered the most dirtiest up until now.
On top of that. There was a survey amongst scientists in the UK recently and they admitted. At least one in seven of their colleagues were cooking the books on the research they did!
One in seven scientists say colleagues fake data

Would you go to an 'all you can eat' buffet and try to stay for weeks, arguing that they didn't specify 'in one sitting'?

Actually, I asked 1.5 of my questions, politely, but as you've seen they couldn't answer them on the day so they shut off the mic. David Wratt has attempted to answer a couple, to which I will respond in due course, and Naish has left a number of questions unanswered, to which I will be returning as well, and Reisinger was a no-show.
Like I said. They can't take the heat.

The RSofNZ also does not return emails or calls from other scientists in NZ.
Ian - you are not alone - and you are asking the Questions that we can't.
Otherwise scientists careers are Terminated.
It is really bad - people end up unemployed for asking Questions.
