Waiting on your entire private email collection Ian, so we can determine if you have "definite character flaws" and expose your own failures.

The Emperor is totally naked, in fact you can see his bones, bring on the trials.

Thomas Everth

In the meanwhile as Ian here bickers over emails or tries to lecture his motley fellowship of arm chair academics this report here is what really counts and it spells out what Ian would like you to ignore at your peril:

CM - luckily for us I do not think Ian will be costing us billions in un-necessary taxes that GW will. These lying wankers from NASA/CRU are going to cost us billions. So, exposing these shysters is much more important than knowing Ian's private emails.

CM

Georgia Boy - if we saw firsthand the level of deception the deniers were taking part in, the price of delay because of their misrepresentations will far far far outweigh any monetary costs for re-engineering our socities to be more sustaintable and healthy and efficient.

>>>>These lying wankers from NASA/CRU are going to cost us billions. So, exposing these shysters is much more important than knowing Ian's private emails.<<<<

If this was all based on lies and conspiracy, the contents of the emails are incredibly underwhelming. I can only imagine what your reaction would be the deniers emails.

Meanwhile Focussed fusion researchers working with Boron Proton reactors are lacking funds.

They only need $10 million to research whether Dr Bussards focussed fusor will work when scaled ....

This will provide exceptionally clean electrical power - if it works.

Now - how much is NZ spending on carbon credits?

Thomas, waving any kind of "summary" produced by members of "The Team" or their hangers on at the top echelons of climate science will, from now on, only get you laughed at I'm afraid.

None of these men have credibility, and their "peer reviewed" work is now officially suspect.

Sorry, them's the breaks.

I did ask Naish and Reisinger about the claims in this document (first raised two weeks ago at THAT briefing), particularly in regard to mass loss in Antarctica using GRACE, when to my knowledge GRACE does not give total coverage of the continent, and they decided not to answer.

Sorry. Alarmist studies have become the equivalent of bog paper in the eyes of most people this week. I'm not dismissing them out of hand, but frankly, how do we know we can trust the peer process they went through anymore?

West Antarctic ice loss overestimated by NASA sats

Incorrect allowance made for trampoline-like bedrock

Scientists using a network of ground sensors emplaced in Antarctica say that NASA satellites have overestimated the amount of ice that is melting and running off into the ocean from the polar continent.

The new results come from the West Antarctic GPS Network (WAGN), which uses 18 locator stations "bolted to bedrock outcrops" in the Western antarctic to discover "ground truth" regarding the phenomenon of "postglacial rebound", where the bedrock lifts as the mile-thick ice sheet atop it diminishes.

The WAGN boffins say they are sure that recent figures for ice loss calculated from GRACE readings have been overestimated, but they are not yet sure by how much. However, they say that there is no dispute about the fact that ice is disappearing from the antarctic sheet - this process has been underway for 20,000 years, since the thickness peaked during the last "glacial maximum".

For a whole section of society "MM Climate change" has literally become a religion, in fact I have had first hand experience with these people.
They are earth worshipers, and they beleive that Capitalism is the root of all evil, they also think that Copenhagen will herald a new age of loving peace, apparently the signs have been in the sky above NZ lately (A Star). They are frantically running around warning of doom unless production is cut, they also think that the world is over populated, its an earth worshiping Neo-Malthusian religion, but they wont come out scathed by any depopulation, it will all be one big love fest.
There are also hundreds of thousands of jobs now at stake within the MMGW industry. And then there are those well meaning people in our society that let the telly do their thinking for them, and so they think "Copenhagen is good for me and my family, "I laugh and ridicule those nutty skeptics" after all the telly hardly even has them on and the presenter thinks they are weird (because he/she is also like the viewer and wants to be like everyone else and believes what they have been told to beleive by the international daddy figures, and they wouldn't lie to me would they). So a religion is at stake, and lots of money is at stake, and a shared belief is also at stake, hence all the cognitive dissonance.

Serf...those who are into "population control" should be invited to depopulate themselves from our presence. ;)

Two problems solved at once... lower population and fewer whiners.

Ian

I think you can get a bit carried away with your influence in an area such as this. While all 6 to 10 of us read your outpourings from time to time, I am afraid that the global scientific community is too busy.

Copenhagen is 11 days away, and it is going to happen. Nick Smith will be the chief nerd for New Zealand with his hodge podge "solution". I think we can all agree about Nick Smith - and other cabinet ministers are starting to show their opportunist colours.

So let's all play the game - let's all demonise Nick Smith and ignore the man that gave him a job, and his colourless colleagues.
