A top Obama climate official has, in the words of Marc Morano, thrown the UN "under a bus" and says the future of climate change talks may exclude the UN in any significant sense.
Jonathon Pershing's comments in the Guardian suggest Obama has been feeling domestic political heat over the UN's barely concealed ambitions to use climate change as the wedge for a new global government.
As I point out in Air Con: Climategate Edition, it would be foolish to believe for a second that the world government lobby, which includes not just the UN but influence peddlers like George Soros, will give up on the bigger aim. More likely is that Obama is trying to take some heat out of the debate before the probable re-entry of a "global governance" solution further down the track once the dust settles.
Much of the opposition within the US senate and Congress to cap and trade has arisen because of attempts to slip global government on climate and economic policy (which would by definition suborn the sovereignty of the US if ratified) into the draft Copenhagen agreement.
come in, CM.

The problem with CM is that he wouldn't know whether his ass was frozen or on fire because socialist ideology has degenerated his brain synapses.
